Text does not have to run in a straight line. **Transformation** bends a text layer into a shape, which is how you get a name curved around a plate, a slogan arcing over a chest print, or a date wrapped into a ring. The text runs straight, with no bending applied. | | **Distort** | Letters grow or shrink across the line, so the text tapers from one end to the other. | | **Arc** | The line of text bends into a curve, upwards or downwards. | | **Wave** | The text ripples along an S-curve. | | **Circle** | The text runs around a full ring. | | **Angle** | The whole text box is skewed, as if it is lying on a surface turned away from you. | Click a shape to apply it. Handles appear on the canvas so you can drag the curve into place, and the controls under the tiles let you set the amount precisely. Start with a moderate amount and increase it. It is much easier to judge when a curve is nearly right than to unpick one that is bent too far. ## Choosing the right one * **Arc** is the everyday choice. Names over a photo, slogans on a chest print, text following the top of a badge. * **Circle** suits anything genuinely round: a plate rim, a coaster, a stamp-style crest. It works best with short text and generous letter spacing. * **Angle** is for perspective. If your mockup shows a product photographed at a tilt, a skewed layer sits on it far more convincingly than a straight one. * **Wave** is decorative. It is striking on one short line and quickly becomes hard to read on more. * **Distort** is a display effect, useful when you want the text to taper into a shape. ## Things worth knowing Curved and warped text does not wrap onto a second line. The **Automatic Multiline** setting is hidden on these layers, because the text follows its shape instead. Keep bent text to a single line and size it with the range in [Text Style](/editor/text-content-and-style). A long name behaves very differently once it is bent. On a **Circle** it can meet itself and overlap; on an **Arc** it flattens out as it grows. Type your longest realistic name into **Content** and check the shape still holds before you publish. Curving is a property of the layer, so a customer typing their own name gets the same curve automatically.
