The Members page (under Settings → Members) is where you control who has access to your Customei account. Every member has an email, a role, and an optional set of permission overrides.

Invite a member

1

Open Settings → Members

From the Customei sidebar, open Settings, then the Members tab.
2

Click Invite member

A modal asks for the invitee’s email address and the role to assign.
3

Pick a role

Staff is the right default for most invitees. Reserve Owner for the one person who owns the account (see Roles and permissions).
4

Send the invite

Customei emails the invitee a sign-in link. They accept by clicking it and completing a short sign-up flow.
Pending invitations show up in the members list with a Pending badge until the invitee accepts.

Edit a member

Click a member in the list to open their settings panel. From here you can:
  • Change the role (Owner ↔ Staff).
  • Tune per-member permissions — grant or revoke individual permissions on top of the role.
  • Disable the member temporarily without deleting them.
  • Remove them from the account entirely.

Per-member overrides

Roles give you reasonable defaults. Overrides let you fine-tune what any one member can do without inventing a new role.
1

Open the member's settings

Click the member in the list.
2

Scroll to Permissions

You’ll see the full permission matrix grouped by category (Templates, Libraries, Option Sets, etc.). Each permission has three states:
  • Default — follow the role.
  • Allow — explicitly grant, even if the role doesn’t include it.
  • Deny — explicitly revoke, even if the role would grant it.
3

Flip what you need

Set each permission to Allow or Deny to override. Everything you don’t touch stays at its default.
4

Save

Customei updates the member immediately. They’ll see the new permissions on their next page load.
See Roles and permissions → Typical override patterns for example setups.

Change the Owner

An account always has exactly one Owner. To transfer ownership:
  1. The current Owner invites the new person as Staff.
  2. The new person accepts and signs in at least once.
  3. The current Owner contacts Support to perform the transfer.
This manual step exists because transferring an Owner role also transfers billing responsibility — we want both sides to confirm before it happens.

Remove a member

1

Open the member's settings

From the members list.
2

Click Remove

Customei asks you to confirm. Click Remove again.
Removing a member:
  • Revokes their access immediately (any open sessions are signed out on the next API call).
  • Leaves every template, option set, and upload they created intact — those belong to the account, not the member.
  • Cannot be undone. To re-grant access, send a new invitation.

Audit and activity

The members list shows each member’s last active time so you can spot dormant accounts. For a full audit log of actions (who edited which template, who invited whom), see Settings → Audit log (coming soon).
