These are the terms that come up on every page. Skim them once; come back whenever a word feels unfamiliar.

Account and shops

The top-level owner of everything you create in Customei — templates, option sets, libraries. One account can own multiple shops. When you invite teammates, they join the account, not a single shop.
A single Shopify store linked to your Customei account. Most merchants have just one. If you run multiple storefronts (e.g. regional stores), each is its own shop under the same account.
A person with access to your account. Roles: Owner, Admin, Staff. See Roles and permissions.

Design and options

The visual layout customers will personalize — built on a canvas with layers (text, image, shape, QR code, clipart). A template defines what the product looks like. See Templates.
One element on a template: a line of text, an image, a shape, a frame. Layers can be grouped, locked, reordered, and bound to option inputs.
The form your customer fills in. A collection of fields, each linked to one or more layers in a template. See Option sets.
One input in an option set. Text, dropdown, swatch, image upload, date, map, and more. Each field has its own settings — default value, required toggle, price add-on. See Field types.
A product photo with a defined print area. The storefront preview warps the template onto the mockup so the customer sees it on a realistic product. See Mockups.

Assets

A container for reusable assets — clipart, fonts, images. Libraries let you share assets across many templates without re-uploading. See Libraries.
A customer-supplied image (e.g. a photo they want printed). Uploads are staged via an app proxy and attached to the order.
A published snapshot of a template + option set, stored on a CDN. When a customer loads a product page, the storefront widget downloads the bundle — not the live admin data. This keeps the storefront fast and isolates it from in-flight edits in the admin.

Pricing and orders

An extra charge attached to a specific option value (e.g. “Gold foil text: +$5”). See Pricing add-ons.
The pricing strategy Customei uses on Shopify Plus stores. Add-ons are applied inside the cart via a Shopify Function. See Cart Transform.
The pricing strategy Customei uses on non-Plus stores. A hidden “fee product” holds one variant per possible add-on amount; the right variant is added alongside the real product. See Fee Variant.
The JSON blob attached to an order line item that captures every option the customer chose, every upload, and enough data for Customei to regenerate the print file.

Quick glance at the flow

Template (what it looks like) + Option Set (what’s changeable) + Product (the Shopify item) = a personalizable product. The storefront widget reads the published bundle and lets customers personalize; every order carries a payload you can fulfill. Keep going: Plans and limits or jump straight to Install Customei.
